Exceptional Welsh “Love Spoon” carved from a single piece of Pear Wood. Shallow bowl (they weren’t meant to be used) leads to a chip carved stem. The highly pierced ‘handle’ showing all the attributes of a Welsh Love Token, hearts, keys, keyholes, doves, central wheel, initials and date. In totally original condition with only one spoke of the cart wheel missing. No other breaks, damage or replacements. An exceptional example in incredible condition. Wonderful colour and patination. 13 inches long and over 6 inches wide at the top. Impressive and rare. 1831
