Superb 19th Century Welsh ‘Love Spoon’ carved from a single section of Fruitwood (Apple or Cherry) well pierced with Hearts, windows, central wheel and scratch carving. The bowl of the spoon is unusually carved on the reverse to look like an Acorn. At nearly 14 inches long this is an impressive spoon. Lovely thin back, highly pierced with a slight curve leading to a Heart shaped bowl. Totally untouched with original surface and patination. Circa 1840-60
