A very special rare miniature Chippendale chest of drawers in Honduras Mahogany. The piece has a one piece ‘Ogee’ moulded top, undamaged with original finish. The three drawer fronts are ‘Ovolo’ moulded and oak lined with fine lapped dovetails to the front and through dovetails to the rear. The top two drawers work on a spring lock with the bottom drawer having original lock and key. All the shaped bracket feet are original with all original blocks to the underside still in place. No chips, repairs or restoration with all original finish, handles and Escutcheons.
A stunning, most likely, Apprentice piece from a very demanding workshop. Extremely rare with this quality. Circa 1760-70. Incredible colour and patina!
