A stunning C17th Carrying Or Carriage Lantern in Walnut with single bine Barley twist corners, bun feet and superb turned Finials with offset circular pattern. The hinge corner is quartered so the door closes still as one section as a corner and looks no different to the other corners. Superb chased C17th hinges top and bottom. The underside is roundel turned with a central finial. The top the same but with a holes to let the heat from a candle out. There is a beautifully cast original bronze folding handle and the original hand floated glass. 42 cm’s tall x 20 x 20. Circa 1680-90
