Collection of three stunning late C18th important ship snuff boxes including one called ‘’SCIPION” a documented French 74 gun ship of the line launched in 1779. Another unnamed 74 gun ship of the the line and the third a very rare generic ship decorated with the 74 canons, the lid with the shipwrights tools and the base with carved sea shells. All carved from Coquilla and all in mint condition with extraordinary condition, originality and colour. Sections of Coquilla nut were fitted together to reach the size needed. This was done because Coquilla is relatively small. These are either Sailor made or commissioned in port. The detail of the canons, figurehead and rear captains quarters and balustrades on all three pieces is exceptional. The longest being 13 cm’s long. Circa 1780-1800
