Beautiful ‘Tastevin’ (wine taster) carved from a single section of Burr Maple. Carved in the Neo-classical style from around 1815-20, possibly from the Breton region of France.
The timber has almost a Marble or Granite look and feel, especially with the Burr, the surface as hard as steel and the colour and patination incredible. The small handle and thumb support just superb. The piece is totally original and untouched. Another Rare piece………..
