A Fine Late 18th Century (Georgian) Mahogany Hourglass. The two Hand Blown Glass Bulbs joined in the centre by waxed string and wire. Filled with crushed Carrara white Marble rather than sand. The ‘sand’ runs smoothly in each direction but is unchecked on timings. The hand blown bulbs of slight green tint. Turned and moulded roundel ends united by four baluster turned supports. A superb diminutive size yet proportionately perfect. Untouched throughout with a very good finish and patination. Circa 1780-90
