A simply stunning HUGE William and Mary, Pestle and Mortar. A true pair, these two pieces have never been separated since the day they were pole lathe turned in the late 17thC from Lignum Vitae. The shape and form are outstanding as is the untouched colour. The word that describes this piece is ‘Magnificent’ I have never seen a better example!! No splits or damage just a little shrinkage in the 4 inch thick base. The colours and hue are truly incredible and show a superb patination and original surface. The Mortar being 10 inches tall, 8 inches diameter and the Pestle 16 inches long. Together they weigh over 12lb (5.5 kg) A true collectors piece. Circa 1690
