Outstanding 17th Century Lignum Vitae ‘Wassail’ Bowl from a collection put together in the 1940’s by a Dr Tompson.
Standing just over 8 inches tall on a moulded base with the initials ADI carved in the underside and a slim neck leading to a bowl pole lathe turned graduating outwards towards the top to an 8 inch diameter, moulded turned around the centre. Apart from a little shrinkage from 350 years it is in immaculate and original condition with the benefit of outstanding original patination. Aesthetically beautiful and dating from around 1660-80 this is a rare item of 17th Century Treen suitable for any collection. A real centre piece…….
