Rare opportunity, Possibly the best small piece of oak I’ve ever bought. Certainly the earliest candle box with drawer. Dating from the second half of the 17th Century around 1660-80 with the more flamboyant carving associated with Charles 11 after the austere and plainer furniture in the Cromwell Period just before. Completely original and untouched/unrestored throughout (this is how it will stay) it has a fabulous one piece back and totally original drawer, linings and handle. The colour and patination are exceptional. This would have been made for a very fine house. Simply incredible and rare!! Found as is in totally original and unrestored condition…….So Rare…….
