Rare and Exceptional C19th Gun Powder Flask of the Ottoman Wars. Set into the front are eight cast white metal insets (possibly Silver) four of which are warriors on horseback and four ‘Green Man’ masks. Well known to be a symbol of life, death and rebirth. Inlaid on the front, back and side are bone ‘marbles’. All this is inlaid into a turned Cedar wood Flask. The original steel pouring spout and sprung cover are in perfect working order. There are three steel brackets for a leather shoulder strap……now long gone. The whole piece is in exceptional untouched condition and a superb colour and patination. It is 18 cm’s diameter.
